YUSU creates space for young people to pause, without pressure to have everything figured out. It begins with permission: to explore what excites them, what they’re good at, and what they may be carrying quietly inside. Dreaming is about reflecting on what moves you, an idea you want to make, a story you want to tell, even when it’s still unclear. Daring means facing doubt, fear, and the inner voice that says “you can’t,” and choosing to take a step anyway, supported by community, creativity, and shared trust. Doing is the moment of ownership: standing in your truth, showing your work, and telling your story in your own way.

Over several months, we journeyed across the cultural region of Noord-Holland Noord, connecting with young people in 17 municipalities through creative sessions and masterclasses. Alongside artists, coaches, and youth workers, ideas took shape and confidence grew, in themselves and in one another. Everything that emerged along the way came together in a single, powerful moment: the YUSU Festival.
